Now the title makes me sound like a old man sitting on the porch yelling at every child that walks past his lawn, but I am 28 years old, which is still very young in actual lifespan, just to give me a little justice. But back to my ranting...I just don't enjoy them. Now there are some that know etiquette and possibly had the right parent or older sibling(may it be brother or sister), or just can respect the time a developer took to put into a game (did you know there is such thing as a story mode in most, if not all, games?!), but ther is a huge chunk of these generation that need to be banned from video gaming (or until maturity kicks in...which could be forever).
Where did this all seed from? When I went to my local GameStop for the GTA V Midnight, I overheard a couple of kids (yes children easily under the age of 17) with their dad in line talking about how there are cheat codes already out for GTA V for all weapons and infinite money. I at first didn't react to their bantering, but wondered:
"What would possibly make a gamer want to ruin a game before they play it?!"
I know that GameSpot.com and Game Informer were 2 of the first mags that talked about cheat codes for GTA V (BTW...shame on them for that), but why would you want to buy a $60 game just to "rush" through it? Isn't the purpose of a game to send you on a imaginary trip into a place not seen or real, away from reality, to tell you of a different tale, to journey, level up, Heck, the strategy guide still had you follow the wtory mode, but gave you tips on what gun and how to complete, but it took time and never jump any mission to get to the end faster.
But guess what? That's just the tip of the iceberg! Any kid with a microphone under the age of 17, heck 13, that plays any multiplayer online game...if what you are talking about doesn't pertain to the game at hand, just shut up! That goes to anyone also who wants to blare whatever music that they are playing in the background into the mic, which is dumb to me. These kids are the future of gaming and crating the games that I will be playing in the near future, then I have no hope for the future of gaming. I shudder to think of how simplistic that most games might come out to.
The kids of this generation need to start setting the idea in their head that the games that they "love and cherish" will soon be yesterday's news and we will need to create new and more exciting games soon. COD and Madden will soon be a "copy and paste" game where there will be no midnights because gamers will start to realize that it's the same thing over and over again. Where will the fresh ideas come from? Where will the new characters and new powers and new stories come from? Cause if its what I see walking around, hear while I play online, or read on comment boards sometimes, then gaming as we know it has met its peak and it's just downhill from here...
Who makes you mad like me sometimes? The person blarring music into their headphones during a match? The gamer that rage quits in the middle of a match that makes your team loses? Comment in the section below and like us on our Facebook page here.
